Vaasa Choir Festival is a Finnish acapella and choir music event, the 30th anniversary will take place in Vaasa, Finland in the spring between 9.-12.5.2024.
The festival is open for everybody. Registrations for the anniversary year will open 1.12. The headlining choirs are announced at the same time. See you in May! Picture: The Kipinät Choir.
12.–13.5.2024
Kaskinen Music Summer has been an annual event since 2007 in July. The festival will be arranged again in July 2025. During year 2024 we invite you to concert series, such as The Spring Concert 12.5. at 16.00 with the tenor Mika Nisula. Most Welcome to Kaskinen, the idyllic wooden town on the westcoast.

The Lohtaja Church Music Festival was founded in 1978. Within four decades The Festival have spread also to other parts of Kokkola and Central Ostrobothnia. The aim is to present church music of the highest quality in all its richness as well as producing and presenting new church music. The Church Music Festival has established itself on the cultural scene as a high-quality event, quality, warm-hearted and accessible event.

Kokkolan SyysKamari, a chamber music festival, takes place every year in August and/or September. The artists are the most renowned young Finnish talents. One of Kokkolan SyysKamari’s main goals is to bring young virtuosos togehter to enjoy the intimate atmosphere and to create unique chamber music experiences. The program consists of chamber music jewels from the baroque era to these very days. Artistic directors: Antto Tunkkari, cello & Pauli Pappinen, double bass.

On Sunday 6.10.2024 at 18:00, an organ concert will be held in Lapua Cathedral, featuring organ compositions requested by the audience. Organist Ilpo Laspas will perform some of his favourite pieces at the concert. The evening will also feature performances by the choirmasters of the Cathedral parish and local young organist Akseli Koivisto.
25.10.–9.11.2024
The Middle Ostrobothnian Chamber opera association was founded in the year 2019 and arranges every second year starting 2023 a three-day chamber opera festival. In Autumn 2024 there will be a new opera named ISFÅGLARNA (Icebirds) by composer Olli Kortekangas and the libretto written by Johan Bargum. The premiere is 25th of October.

The musicans of the Seinäjoki City Orchestra (SKOR) consists a string quintet and a wind quintet, the orchestra's focus is on chamber music. SKOR also regularly performs symphonic music and jazz. The concerts feature a greater variety of classical orchestral music. Cast aside your preconceptions, throw yourself into the vortex of music and create your own imagination of melodies with SKOR!

2024: The Beauty of Longing
RUSK is a chamber music festival held annually in Pietarsaari/Jakobstad, Finland at the end of November. RUSK seeks to reflect the present day and age with its myriad variations and challenges. It is a melting pot in which creativity is unleashed in exotic contexts at the darkest, bleakest time of the northern year. In 2020 conductor Anna-Maria Helsing was appointed as new artistic director of RUSK.

Composer Pehr Henrik Nordgren’s (1944-2008) vision of a series of concerts in a small village in Central Ostrobothnia in the darkest mid-winter has carried on from the late 1970s to the present day. Artistic Director, violaplayer Tiila Kangas.

The Ilmajoki Music Festival is next year celebrating its 50th anniversary. The new, domestic premiere is the 15th self-produced opera "The Big Hate", which tells the story of the years of hate and the fate of our ancestors on the banks of the Kyrönjoki River. Composed by Uljas Pulkkis, libretto by Anneli Kanto, directed by Tuomas Parkkinen and conducted by Eero Lehtimäki. The tickets are now open for sale!
